MicrofiltrationBy micro and ultra filtration mainly macro molecules and small particles as well as suspensions and emulsions are separated. Microfiltration is primary used for separation of solid particles which are in suspension or a colloidal form from a solution.
Microfiltration (MF) membranes are used in a broad range of applications in the biotech, bio-pharma, API, food & chemical industries for versatile of applications. |
UltrafiltrationBy ultra filtration – similar to micro filtration - mainly macro molecules and small particles as well as suspensions and emulsions are separated. The passages between micro filtration and ultra filtration are fluent: Membranes of a pore size between 0,1µm and a few µm are associated with micro filtration, membranes of a pore size between 0,01µm and 0,1µm are associated with ultra filtration.

NanofiltrationThe separation effect of the nano filtration is based, like in reverse osmosis, on the different solubility of the components in their solvent. Hereby, mono-valent ions, like e.g. Na+ or Cl-, are retained only partially, however multi-valent ions, like e.g. Mg2+, Ca2+, So42-, PO42-, are mainly retained . Nanofiltration is used to soften and remove organic matter and synthetic organic matter in water with low total dissolved solids.

Reverse OsmosisReverse Osmosis (RO) is the application of the tightest membranes on the market and their pore size is defined in terms of salt (NaCl) rejection.
Used in the production and treatment of potable, ultrapure and process water for municipal, agricultural and industrial applications, reverse osmosis water treatment separates molecules and ions from their solutions. |
